Antique Clay Pot - REDUCED - FINAL in Chatsworth, Georgia For Sale

3 ft. 4 inches tall, approx. 7 ft. around the widest part.
This antique clay pot was used for importing and exporting purposes, mainly to export meat to the West Indies from Europe starting in the late xxxx's. One of the most common shipping containers used for food was the olive jar, imported from Spain. These antique jars were handmade clay pottery, about 30 to 50 gallons in size.
History of this particular pot:
It was used by natives in Trinidad, West Indies from xxxx until xxxx for collecting rain water. The scraped places on the sides of the pot were caused by rolling it on and off ships by hand prior to the xxxx's when it was used for shipping purposes. It was purchased by my father in xxxx and brought to the USA. It has been safely preserved in it's found condition.
This is an excellent item for display in a garden or other outside setting.
